Bullfighting: A Tradition and Art Worth Preserving!

Many criticise the continued practise traditional of bullfighting. They say it is wrong, cruel, violates animal rights and consitutes an unethical bloodsport.
The following arguments consider various points which hopefully will provide further insight as to why bullfighting deserves be preserved in our present society:

  • This practise is no more cruel to the animals than the humans who risk their lives in the ring. Both are susceptible to dying.
  • There are different types of bullfighting. One of these include Recortes in which the animal is not physically injured and blood drawing is very rare. It is wrong to make generalisations about bullfighting, namely to make the assumptions that animals are always victimised.
  • Killing animals in a ring is no less ethical than butchering them for meat. There is flabergasting hypocrisy in claiming to promote animal rights if you are constantly eating meat!
  • Some will argue that it is a cruel and painful way of killing the beast; not always so.
